After getting 11 to
play with at least 2 carrying injuries on a hot and windy day at the
manor we faced seven men. With John still in charge he lost the toss and
was asked to field same as last week (good omen?). No such luck as our
ground fielding let us down (I would have caught it but some one had put
this bloody big light in the sky?). They got to 180-6 All out. Roger
Gosby in his first game for years 12-1-41-2, Jocky 7-0-40-3 and John
7-0-29-1 got the wickets with catches from Mike, Nick, Ben, Gings and
Roger we went for tea. Brilliant as usual.
Well with nobody
getting more than 20 we were all out for 87. The only highs were Owen
landing a six on the clubhouse roof and Turkey launching a six onto the
other pitch with Jack still looking for it as the Dorset boys signalled
6.
